With summer approaching fast, I, like most parents, am scrambling to make sure my kids have plenty of things to do to keep boredom at bay! For my older children, this is not as challenging. There seems to be million opportunities for kids over 7. However, for my younger kiddos, ages 3-6, I have a harder time finding camp-like activities that I am also comfortable sending them to alone.
My Preschooler is super smart, very curious, and easily bored…so we need some seriously great programming!
Specialized Camps For Tots
I want to be sure that my younger kiddos have as much fun during the summer as my more independent children, while also making sure that they are well supervised and engaged.
Avid4 Adventure has come to my rescue once again. For younger children they have strutted specific camp programs to help them learn to be bigger adventurers!
Kids can choose to learn how to ride a bike with other munchkins their age or to increase their bike riding skills without training wheels.
Another camp allows kids to learn about biking, climbing, hiking, and canoeing along with yoga, music and art!
I am especially excited for the Outdoor Cooking Class that Avid4 Adventures offers Pre-K kids! My son has a special love for helping in the kitchen and I think he will really enjoy it!

Who are the counsellors?
Avid4 Adventure takes its staff very seriously because they know that we, as parents, take our children seriously. Counsellors are highly screened and specially trained to meet the needs of younger children. Is addition camper to staff ratio with youngster camps are as low as 7:1. There is also a 45 minute period of downtime each day where nap mats and blankets, story time and arts and crafts are available, giving kids a chance to recharge.
How Long are These camps?
With my 4 year old I was concerned about sending him away for more than a few hours…not only was I just a being a bit of a helicopter mom, but I was also worried about he would react to that much separation.
That’s why I love that Avid4 Adventure offers half day and full camps for their youngest campers.
This is a great way to transition children to the school year as well. They get to have fun in a safe, secure, and exciting environment while learning the confidence and independence that they need to succeed in school.
are there locations near me?
However, if you have older children that would also like participate in Avid4 Adventure camps there are locations along the front range in Boulder, Lafayette, and Superior as well as in the metro area in Stapleton, Washington Park, Hilltop, Greenwood Village, Golden, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock and Colorado Springs. In addition, they also offer overnight camps for 1st – 12th graders in Evergreen & Bailey, Colorado.
