March Blogging Goals

Dare To Share!

I have been blogging for a little over 7 months now and have yet to set myself any blogging goals.

Goals are important things to set for oneself in every aspect of life, in my opinion. They give you something to be accountable for, something to work towards, and they can help get you excited for what is to come. Goals help you work harder and smarter.

So I better get my booty in gear!

Since I am new to this I am going to start with monthly goals rather than yearly goals. After All I haven’t been blogging for a year yet! How can I possibly Know what a full year can do for my blog?

So, this month I am going to set 5 goals for myself. I hesitate to start this month, as I think I still have a full month of “morning” sickness left, which has definitely effected my ability to blog as I would like to.

However I need to start somewhere!

  1. Increase Twitter following by 1000– I currently have 3,188 followers on twitter. By then end of this month, I hope to have 4,500 followers. 5,000 has been a big goal of mine since I realized how important social media was, so getting withing 500 of that goal would be a huge plus for me!
  2. Engage with Pinterest daily to increase my reach and my following-I constantly hear that pinterest is a huge driver for blogs. This month I plan to engage with pinterest for at least 10 minutes a day and follow at least 10 other bloggers per day to help increase my own following.
  3. Link up with other blogs using Linkies daily– For the last month I have been so ill that I haven’t been able to engage with other bloggers link-ups the way that I normally do.  I would like to re-connect with these linkies starting this week. HOWEVER- I am going to be a bit more selective. I have, in the past connected with around 20 linkies per week. In the world of linkies some are much more productive than others, and since i am in this blogging game to be productive myself, I need to spend my time on the ones that will help me out the most.
  4. Engage with Facebook groups geared toward helping blogs and social media– I am a part of a lot of facebook groups geared toward helping bloggers. Yet I only really engage with one lately. While this particular group is super helpful and amazing, I would like to spend this month checking out the worth of the a few of the other groups I am part of and begin engaging with the ones that I think will really help my blog.
  5. Focus on Affiliates at least once daily– I have been so focused on growing my following so that affiliates might be attracted to my site, that I have spent very little time actually engaging with affiliates. I have a small group of affiliates that I follow but don’t always apply to. This month I am going to widen my affiliate base and apply to at least 5 paid opportunities per week.

I am a little daunted by these goals, I have to admit! Having put them out there I will report next month on how I did, therefore I could end up looking like a real fool. But let’s stay positive!

March is gonna be great!

What are your blogging goals? Do you have goals you would suggest I add to my list?

  2. These are great goals! I’ll admit, I due in 8 weeks and I have been SO tired that I haven’t been blogging as much as I should… Weekly goals seem much more achievable than setting yearly ones… Good Luck Brandi! Hope you are feeling much better!! xx #globalblogging

  3. Wow I’d love to increase my twitter at that rate! How do you do it?! Sounds good, I have set myself some goals this month for the first time (I’d already set goals for the year and am on track with some of them). Good luck! #bigpinklink

  4. Hi Brandy, I am hopeless for setting myself goals, I think that monthly goals probably work better. I would love to know how people increase their Twitter following so fast. It took me a year to get 1000 followers! Linkies helped me grow my blog last year, they really do help get blogs seen as well as making it easier to find new blogs to read.

I cannot think of anything I would add to your list of goals for March. I do hope you reach each and every one.

  5. These are great goals! Good luck with them all. I think I often under utilize FB groups
Thanks for linking up to #AnythingGoes 🙂

  6. Good on you for your focus!! And these seem very reasonable, manageable goals-I’ll look forward to hearing how you get on achieving them! I really need help with Pinterest-I’ve also heard that it’s a big driver of traffic, but I have absolutely zero idea how to use it!! Do you know, I’ve never actually set blogging goals ever!! I’m quite disorganised, but I read posts like this, and get inspired to sort myself out and actually make some…!!

  7. I need to start making blogging goals again. It all fell by the wayside when I was super sick with my second pregnancy too. It is not easy being tired and trying to blog lol. These sound like awesome goals! Stick with it you will do it.

  8. I love this goals list, I love how particular you are about what exactly the goal is, that they are specific and not broad! Good luck and I can’t wait to watch your blog grow!

  9. Making goals each month is a great idea! I’m sure you’re going to do an amazing job this month! I do hope you reach all your blogging goals for this month so that you can keep on improving each month.

  13. Good luck! Those are lofty goals and I’ve been blogging for years and haven’t hit many of those (though I don’t try, sooo) I hope you reached all your goals! Blogging is a beautiful community.

  14. What a great post. It’s so inspiring. I’ve been blogging for the same amount of time and I feel so connected to the points you have brought up. If you’re up for it I would love to connect and maybe help each other out somehow. XOXO and I hope your morning sickness goes away soon

  15. For someone who has been blogging for just 7 months you sound like you are doing fab already! How did you manage to keep up with 20 linkys?? Good luck with the goals! #globalblogging

  16. I really hope you meet your goals this month! Goals can be so daunting. I find it especially hard with things that are hard to control, like my social following and stuff. But you’re right, they give you a measurable arena to work toward and I think that’s really important as you grow your blog!

  17. I’ve just started my newest blog, and although I don’t plan to monetize it, I do still want to engage with others and enjoy the whole blogging scene. Your goals were very helpful and gave me some ideas on where to start. Thanks!

  18. I used to get great traffic from linkies, but then I stopped for some reason. I need to get back into that.
