I really enjoy anything with ice cream in it. In my opinion, Ice Cream should be it’s own food group!
As a mom and bartender, I also enjoy booze every now and then. Ok, sometimes I NEED the booze after a particularly rough day of 5 tiny heathens fighting constantly!
Thus, in my little world, a Boozy Ice Cream shake is the Bee’s Knees! (I have also included a non-alcholic option at the bottom!)
I decided to create this little concoction with my two favorite liqueurs, Kahlua and Bailey’s Irish Cream and then add a little extra flavor with Creme de Menthe and little extra boozy kick with some vodka! It was a hit for my co-workers when I made it for them, I certainly hope you enjoy it as well!
1 1/2 large scoops vanilla ice cream
3-4 Tbls milk
.75 oz Vodka (I used Titos but this a personal preference)
1 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream
1 oz Kalua
1-2 drops of green food coloring for that extra IRISH feel!
.5 oz Creme de Menthe (again this amount is a personal preference, I wanted just a hint of mint, but if you prefer more just add a dabble here and there until it is just right for you)
1 Dollop Whipped Cream
Throw everything except the chocolate syrup and whipped creme in a blender at once. While your drink is whipping together grab your Hershey’s syrup and trickle a layer around the glass to give a light chocolately flavor to your cocktail.
Pour your shake into the glass and top with a generous dollop of whipped cream with just a touch of Creme de Menthe on top for garnish.
You can also make a non-boozy version using a small scoop of mint chocolate chip and a small scoop of Hagaan Daaz’s Baileys Irish Creme Ice Cream OR a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of cappuccino flavored ice cream with a drop or two of mint extract. Blend it up, scoop it into your chocolate laced glass, and top with some whipped cream and drop of green food coloring. Yum!
