Hello again from Workout Wednesday’s!
March has flown by and we have straight into April. A new month means a new Featured YouTube Trainer! So far this year we have focused on female trainers, Tiffany Rothe and Josephine from Gymra, so today I have decided we need a male presence in our workout lives!
Just a reminder that my Featured Trainers are coaches on YouTube, meaning you don’t have to travel to a gym or worry about any fees to do a workout! All you need is a small amount of space (about 4×6 feet minimum) and, for some routines, a set of dumbbells available at your local superstore like Walmart, Target, etc.
As my first, male featured trainer, I have chosen another Gymra associate: Phong Tran. I really love this guy because his routines are dynamic, with various levels of difficulty, make him perfect for the beginner or the more seasoned fitness guru.
Phong is also not a HIGH INTENSITY trainer. You won’t find any HIIT routines or long cardio numbers here. I find these workouts are perfect for the days after I have done a series of more cardio intensive activities.
Don’t get me wrong, however, Phong won’t let you down with an easy workout! These training sessions will get your heart rate up and make your muscles burn even without constant jumping and plyometrics movements!
Another reason I enjoy Phong’s workouts is how clear and concise he is about the moves he asks you to do. He will often demonstrate moves before asking his helpers to complete a set, helping those of us at home feel more secure about what we are doing and making it less likely that we will fall behind in the routine and start to feel overwhelmed.
Below is one of the first workouts of his that I did first. It is a lower body routine that will have your legs, thighs, and butt, BURNING! Work through that burn and you will see results!
The next workout of Phong’s that I would like to show you is a 30 minute routine of compound exercises. Compound exercises work groups of body parts at the same time, causing you to tone your muscles more quickly and burn more calories.
Finally, I would like to show you this quick, 20 minute, full body workout. This workout is not comprised of compound movements, so the moves are a little easier, however, Phong still makes sure to include exercises that will tone your entire body!
YouTube is a great place to find a fitness routine that works for you FOR FREE!
Be sure to check out Phong, Tiffany Rothe, and Josephine from Gymra, for some great workouts that you can do in the comfort of your own home.
Stay tuned the first Wednesday of every month for our featured trainer to find more great fitness trends, ideas, and routines!
